Biography Minerva Spencer

I only rate books that I truly enjoy. Before I became a writer, I had a variety of jobs, including working as a dock worker, reading for the blind, and serving as a criminal prosecutor. I also taught American History at the college level for five years and managed an 8-bedroom bed and breakfast. However, I will never write about my experiences in the hospitality industry. I have a deep love for historical fiction, as it allows me to escape into the past during my downtime. Additionally, I am drawn to writing romance because I value a happy ending and the journey that leads to it. I began my writing career later in life, and I feel the need to work quickly to make up for lost time. I spend my days at a desk with a view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains, as well as my free-range birds and three loyal hounds named Earl, Spot, and Rover. When I’m not writing, I enjoy spending time with my animals, knitting, DIY projects, crocheting, sewing, and watching classic films. I also write historical romance and erotic romance under the pen name S.M. LaViolette, as well as historical mysteries under the name S.M. Goodwin.
